Here at 1001 plateaus we serve up high quality Chinese tea from the most famous tea producing regions in China and generous scoops of knowledge for how to brew it, drink it and store it.

About 1001: We are a quirky little company that does things very different from other tea stores.
We order artisan level Yixing teapots directly from the artists and in general we only carry one pot of each style.

We order the highest quality teas direct from growers in China in small batches. We only carry teas we find interesting and meet our level of expectation (the rare Golden Buddha, the freshness of Long Jing, the extraordinary length and sheen of a Da Hong Pao leaf). This makes our inventory sort of odd, but those of you that have bought from us before know we certainly aren't selling the usual crap.
