Jin Fo (Golden Buddha)
Our Jin Fo oolong is one of Wuyishan's rarest teas. This amazing tea tastes thick and viscous, as if brewed with something other than plain water. The taste of this tea will stay with you for a long time; some people say they wake up the next morning with the sweet Buddha taste lingering in their mouth.
Our Jin Fo is grown in the porous high cliffs of Wuyi Shan in Fujian Province. and its limited quantity allows the utmost care to be given at every step. The leaves are a dark green with a matte sheen, and are exquisitely shaped.
Jin Fo can be stored for 1-2 years in a dry, air- and light-tight container. Jin Bian Lan has a rich flavor, thick and pretty much the smoothest oolong we have tasted.
Brewing tips: oolongs can be brewed in a gaiwan or in a Yixing teapot. Preheat vessel and cups with near boiling water (85-95°C or 185-200°F). Fill 1/3 to 1/2 of the volume with tea and add water and push off the bubbles with the lid as you cover and pour out this wash. Add more water, cover and infuse for 10-20 seconds, depending on taste.
